The fairy-tale characters, the Moomins, were born in the 1930s thanks to the writer and talented artist Tove Jansson. It is thanks to them that Tove Jansson is known and loved all over the world — the Moomin books have been translated into more than 30 languages. This is not surprising, as the inhabitants of the hospitable valley are so lovely and kind. Yet, oddly enough, the charming Moomins were initially conceived by Jansson as angry creatures in her satirical drawings. And yet, these magical stories turned out to have a happy ending!
