Buka, a grumpy, lonely gnome, hung out his mittens to dry. But bad luck—the wind blew them away. And when Buka shook his fist at the wind, the rascal snatched the red cap right off his head too. How could he ever catch them now!
In the forest, under an old oak tree, lives a large family of rabbits: mom, dad, aunt and uncle, grandpa, and more children than you can count, because they are always running around, shouting, and jumping. Two bunnies, Nina and Nika, find the red cap—the one the wind stole from the gnome who always visits the forest at Christmas—hidden among the leaves and moss. But what is Christmas? The squirrels and crows said that Christmas is the most joyful holiday of all. No one knows how to celebrate it, but everyone is eagerly waiting for it and preparing for the gnome’s arrival: composing a joyful gnome song, baking treats, tidying up their homes, preparing gifts, and decorating a tree in the forest with all sorts of knick-knacks.
But the gnome still doesn't arrive. So, the bunnies set off to find him!
