The fascinating and kind fairy-tale novellas "The Adventures of Karandash and Samodelkin" and "The Magic School of Karandash and Samodelkin" by renowned children's author Yuri Druzhkov gained incredible popularity immediately upon their first publication. The main characters—the magic artist Karandash and the iron master Samodelkin—were known throughout the country. They were the lead characters of the most popular children's magazine, "Veselye Kartinki" ("Merry Pictures").
Years later, Yuri Druzhkov's son, author Valentin Postnikov, came up with a continuation of these childhood-favorite stories. The curious, brave, and cheerful little characters set off on incredible, exciting journeys, unafraid of difficulties or dangers. And young readers, as before, follow their adventures with bated breath. The iron master Samodelkin built a miracle all-terrain aircraft, the "Dryndolet." With such an extraordinary machine, one can even fly to the Moon! The merry characters embark on an extraordinary space journey. They do not yet know that fearsome pirates want to seize their miracle ship.
