The fascinating and kind fairy-tale novellas by famous children's author Yuri Druzhkov, "The Adventures of Karandash and Samodelkin" and "The Magic School of Karandash and Samodelkin," gained incredible popularity immediately after they were first published. The main characters—the magical artist Karandash and the iron craftsman Samodelkin—were known throughout the country. They were the main characters of the most popular children's magazine, "Veselye Kartinki" ("Merry Pictures").
Years later, Yuri Druzhkov's son, writer Valentin Postnikov, came up with a continuation of these childhood favorite stories. Curious, brave, and cheerful little characters set off on incredible, exciting journeys, unafraid of difficulties and dangers. And young readers, as before, follow their adventures with bated breath.
