The protagonist of the story is second-grader Endrek - a nice boy and a good friend. He has a wonderful father and mother, a tiny sister Eva, a slightly mischievous twin sister Magda, who sometimes likes to command her brother, and a faithful friend Rybka.
At school and at home, during the summer holidays and on holidays, all sorts of funny stories happen to Endrik. Either they pour water over him from a bucket, then a ghost knocks on his window at the camp site, then he mixes up purchases. He also teaches a friend to solve puzzles about oranges and a crocodile, portrays a horse at a performance, and together with his sister comes up with a breathtaking gift for dad.
Endrek calmly and with dignity gets out of all the troubles and cheerfully talks about them.
The world and people in this book are extremely kind and adequate, and the Polish boy Endrek himself is somewhat reminiscent of the famous Deniska from the stories of the writer Viktor Dragunsky.
