When she was just a tiny child, Cosette was entrusted by her mother to the Thénardier family, who seemed so prosperous and successful. However, the dishonest innkeeper Thénardier and his wife ruthlessly exploited Cosette’s mother, insisting that caring for her daughter was very expensive. In reality, they turned Cosette into their servant. The lonely girl, deprived of a real family and care, had to get up early in the morning and take on heavy labor. That is why she was nicknamed Cosette — the Lark. But one day, the life of little Cosette changed forever thanks to a stranger who helped her carry a bucket of water.
