The main character of Vitaly Valentinovich Bianchi's books has always been nature. The writer called his stories "fairy tales - non-tales". The heroes of V. V. Bianchi live their ordinary, “natural” life, but at the same time they speak human language. This combination of fairy tale and reality helps the reader to better understand the life of nature.
So in the tale "The First Hunt" a stupid puppy hunts wild animals and thinks that he can catch Bittern, Hoopoe, Vertisheyka, Lizard and all kinds of insects: beetles, butterflies, grasshoppers. Well, it wasn't there! All birds, animals and insects know how to hide, and the Bombardier Beetle "shoots" a caustic stream in the puppy's nose. Very detailed illustrations by the artist Y. Manukhin introduce children to interesting animals.
