It seems nine-year-old Kostya is in for the most boring winter break of his life: he’s been sent to stay with his grandfather. Grandfather is a good guy, of course, and it’s fun to visit him in the summer. But what is there to do in winter? He doesn’t have a gaming console, and there are barely any channels on the TV... Plus, Kostya hasn’t made any friends in his grandfather’s town. So, when his grandfather, trying to keep him occupied, hands him his old skates and sends him to the rink by the house to skate and meet some kids, Kostya reluctantly agrees. However, at the rink, it turns out that Grandfather’s skates are somehow unusual: in them, Kostya doesn’t just glide confidently across the ice—he can skate as well as a professional hockey player! What kind of magic is this? Where did Grandfather get these skates, and who did they belong to before?.. And perhaps, thanks to these magic skates, will Kostya not only make friends with the local kids but also join them in a real hockey match?
