A touching, childishly direct story about the blockade days - such as little Misha sees them, who remained with his parents in besieged Leningrad, not only reveals to the reader the signs of the times and tells "how it was", but also teaches to be strong: after all it's not every day you get "very nice scarlet fever" or try to walk with a crutch because you have a shrapnel wound. And, of course, be proud of real heroes: Mishka's mother, who herself can clear a high-explosive bomb, or policeman Ivan Fyodorovich Blinchik, who, no matter what happens, does not leave his post. Yes, and Mishka himself and his friends, who decided to give performances for the wounded soldiers in order to support them, are they not heroes?
