The "Cherry's Diaries" series has gained popularity in Europe, and in 2014 it won the main prize at Angoulême (the most prestigious European festival of "drawn stories") as the best comic book series for children.
Today, the series consists of 6 volumes, each dedicated to a separate adventure of Cherry and her friends. Before our eyes, the young dreamer turns into a real writer, learning to observe, see the world, and record stories, while living through difficult personal situations along the way. Cherry sets off on a trip around the world with her mother, her mother's friend Stephan, and little Valentin, Stephan's son. An adventure lasting a whole year awaits them. They will travel through Europe, South America, and Africa, watch whales and the Northern Lights, walk through Moroccan streets and the Amazon rainforest, meet new amazing acquaintances and encounter old friends. And most importantly, they will find answers to questions about how to heal old wounds and whether it is possible to find happiness when you least expect it. The book contains a narrative part in comic format and a diary part, in which Cherry reflects on what is happening.
The book expands the boundaries of possibility. A child will feel empowered to draw, write, and notice the unusual around them.
The atmosphere of a personal story is created through Cherry's drawings, her photographs, diary entries, as well as watercolor illustrations that tell the story of the heroine's life.
