In Moscow, the Moscow Seasons festival is now held with or without reason. These are festive events during which the city is decorated according to theme, fairs, concerts, and exhibitions are held, accessible to everyone. Moreover, in addition to the main sites in the center, local celebrations are held in each administrative district. This time, Moscow was decorated so much for the New Year that, in my opinion, it eclipsed Christmas Europe. All this is very cool, and we really want to get out with the whole family next week for the Maslenitsa festivities on Manezh Square. We will not eat pancakes for the repose of the soul, we will not ask forgiveness for sins, voluntary and involuntary, and Lent will not begin for us after Maslenitsa, we are simply for any kind of commotion except a hunger strike!
To to join the holiday, you don’t even have to go anywhere - the holiday itself comes to us: in the kindergarten (we have an ordinary district kindergarten) buffoons entertain children with songs and dances, take them for a ride in a horse-drawn cart, feed them pancakes (I don’t want to think about how children in mittens eat these pancakes with napkins in the cold, blah-blah-blah, I’m in the house), in general, everyone is happy, and that’s the main thing!
And we also thought that a Christmas elf wasn’t enough, so now a Maslenitsa cat comes to us on Maslenitsa and leaves notes with tasks and little presents. And which cat loves pancakes? Findus, of course! That’s what we named ours. Last year, Findus gave us pancakes all week long. We were given tasks of a Maslenitsa-spring nature: of course, to bake pancakes (shaped ones), to sprout an onion, to plant flower seeds in a pot, and on the penultimate day he told us to make a scarecrow! On Sunday he said goodbye until next year and disappeared, now we are waiting to see if he will come again...
