In elementary school, our whole class had two favorite films - "The Adventures of Electronics" and ... "Guest from the Future", of course! We watched them, then discussed and even staged episodes at breaks. I read the book avidly after the film, and then my parents had to get me more and more stories about Alisa Selezneva. I remember once dad sent home from work, hiding something behind his back, "Dance!" he commanded. I did not understand anything, but just in case I did a few steps, and they handed me a heavy volume in a dust jacket, which contained "Alice's Birthday", "Purple Ball", "Rusty Field Marshal" and something else, already I do not remember. In the next few days, I was lost to society...
But Bulychev has not only Alice, he has a very good, but less well-known series of stories about Dr. Pavlysh. The story "The Village" is about him, it is for older children and adults. I even more than once met the opinion that this is generally the best work of the writer. The action takes place on another planet, where a spaceship with earthlings crashes, and people establish a colony. The main characters - teenagers and adults - cling to the last hope of connecting with the Earth...
