"Dubrovsky" is a small masterpiece of Pushkin's prose. The plot of this short work is based on a romantic story about a noble robber, impoverished nobleman Vladimir Dubrovsky. Having lost his home, Dubrovsky challenges the all-powerful gentleman Troekurov and takes revenge on him for the death of his father and the insult inflicted.
The novel remained unfinished during Pushkin's lifetime, and the name "Dubrovsky" was given by the publishers when it was first published in Pushkin's collected works in 1841.
