Interest in children's literature was instilled in Efim Chepovetsky by his teachers - Samuil Marshak and Lev Kassil. Under their influence, a recognizable literary style of the writer was formed, wonderful books appeared - perky, ironic, but at the same time imbued with kindness and great love for children. And one of the most famous is rightfully considered the story "The Adventures of the Chess Soldier Peshkin", the main characters of which are cheerful and courageous chess pieces.
Two armies live in the chess kingdom-state - white and black, ready to fight at any moment. And so, when the soldier Peshkin was sent on a secret operation - to free the chick Pyzhik from the mousetrap - the spies immediately reported this to the enemy king. Following Peshkin, a detachment of stern black figures was sent. However, no intrigues of enemies can prevent the brave soldier from completing a combat mission and saving the young Fawn. After all, kindness and courage, friendship and mutual assistance always destroy any insidious plans.
