A fairy tale story from the famous Swedish writer Frida Nilsson about mutual assistance and support, about courage and upholding one's opinion, about how to remain human even in the most difficult times.
Sem and his younger brother Immer are orphans. The boys live with the evil aunt Tyura, who makes them work in the workshop from morning to night. One day, the brothers meet a talking rat named Blackrat. He tells them about the beautiful land of the Lindworms, ruled by the kind Queen Indra. All her life the queen dreams of becoming a mother and would be glad to adopt Sam and Immer. The boys agree to live in the castle.
All day long they play, eat sweets. But soon Sem realizes that Indra likes his younger brother, but the queen does not have tender maternal feelings for him. Yes, and servant-animals behave suspiciously: they dream of returning to the forest and are not very happy to please Indra. And it is also surprising that people do not live in this country. What is the secret of Queen Indra?
