The modest Russian forest will not leave anyone indifferent. Even on the most frosty winter days, life does not stop here: black grouse burrow into the snow, packs of wolves roam the covered paths. It is joyful and noisy in the forest in spring and summer: birds whistle with each other, animals roam under the trees. Autumn is coming, and the forest dwellers are beginning to prepare for winter. Birds fly south, lizards and snakes hide, bears and squirrels make dens. Writer I. Sokolov-Mikitov and artist G. Nikolsky shared with readers sketches of the life of the Russian forest.
