Each book in the Dinosaur Friends series follows a day in the life of the Tyrannosaurus Rasmus Rex and his best friend Trim Troodon. That day, Rasmus and Trim were playing at Grandfather Trim's when the postman brought a letter from Aunt Troodon. She wrote that far, far away, behind the swamp forest, on the top of the Big Pine, she noticed a nest, and in the nest an abandoned egg. There was no trace of the parents, but a huge dinosaur was flying nearby. How to save an unborn baby if you can’t get to the nest from the ground? Trim suggested flying there in a hot air balloon, which was conveniently found in grandfather’s secret room of mechanisms and inventions. The balloon won't lift Grandpa - it's too heavy. This means that she and Rasmus will fly as the lightest and youngest. That’s what Trim decided, but Rasmus was terribly afraid of heights, and at first he really didn’t like this idea. True, then he felt sorry for the orphan egg, and reluctantly he agreed to go with his best friend on a long and dangerous flight.

A series of books about the adventures of dinosaur friends was written and drawn by writer Lars Maehle and artist Lars Rudebjer. Together they created the whole country of Dinosauria, where something funny and unexpected awaits the child on every page. The book has a lot of dialogue, so it is perfect for reading aloud and role-playing with children aged 4 years and older.

In addition to the fascinating plot and cute characters, the book has a small educational part that tells about who dinosaurs were, when they lived on Earth and why they disappeared. There are also interesting facts about winged dinosaurs that are found on the pages of this book.
