There is hardly a lover of sweets who will not be delighted with Signorina Cinnamon’s confectionery. Although finding it is not at all easy! The shop is hidden in the depths of a deserted street, near an abandoned factory. But it spreads wonderful aromas throughout the entire area.
When twelve-year-old Marta wandered here, she immediately fell in love with these smells, with the neat, but for some reason empty display cases - not even knowing about Signorina Cinnamon’s amazing cakes! Sweets are prepared here exclusively to individual order. Feeling insecure? The I-can-handle-anything dessert is just right for you! Had a fight with your parents? The sweet “I’ll find the right words to make peace” tart is ready! How could anyone wish harm upon such a magical confectionery? Alas, maybe... Marta and Matteo, students of Signorina Cinnamon, are looking for a way to save the pastry shop, but their idea leads to unexpected results.
Italian writer, journalist and screenwriter Luigi Ballerini (born in 1963) is a great connoisseur of cooking: under His editorship published several encyclopedias dedicated to this art. Ballerini's passion intersected in "Signorina Cinnamon" with a love for children's literature - and successfully: the story was awarded the main Italian youth award, Premio Andersen, in 2014. In the writer’s homeland, this urban fairy tale for 8-11 year olds immediately gained popularity: a bright, kind and memorable story - a true modern classic.
