Little Anya’s life is calm and happy. Summers are spent in the countryside, with blueberry fields, tall pines, and a warm lake. While her parents study at university, she attends an American school, eats jam sandwiches instead of soup for lunch, looks for new friends, and gets used to walking outside without a hat. Maria Danilova’s story "Anya Here and There" was a finalist for the Krapivin International Children's Literary Award in 2020. It is a story about growing up between two cultures and about how important it is, no matter where you are, to know that you can always return home.
