Andryusha is seven whole years old, and very soon he will go to school. How exciting it is to get ready for the first grade! And how many interesting events and discoveries await the boy ahead! Together with Andryusha, young readers will learn how to practice diligence and patience, what it means to be a responsible monitor, how difficult it can be to ask for forgiveness, and that writing numbers is no easy task at all. The illustrations for the story by Natalia Nikitich were done by Olga Bogaevskaya, a wonderful Leningrad artist who has illustrated dozens of children's books.
