Gottfried's grandfather is in the hospital. He has a fierce temper and is constantly arguing—with his son, Gottfried's dad, and with the nurse. He also uses foul language. But Gottfried understands: for his grandfather, who was always active and energetic, it is difficult to be weak, lie in bed, and take pills. So, Gottfried decides to help his grandfather stage an escape. And even though he had to lie to his parents to do it, it was worth it: his grandfather visits the house he built for his late wife, where they lived a happy life together. He takes a photo of his wife and a jar of lingonberry jam with him: if he eats just a tiny bit every day, it should last for the rest of his life. And that is exactly what happened. After returning to the hospital, his grandfather curses less, becomes kinder—and makes his final escape, from which there is no return.
