Not every town has a tame lion, a talking camel, and the kindest police chief in the world. But in Kardemomme, everyone can meet them. Moreover, the townspeople ride the double-decker tram for free, where they sing songs and eat fragrant gingerbread. True, sometimes robbers pay a visit to Kardemomme, but that only makes life there more interesting!
The book first appeared in the USSR in 1956 and has enjoyed immense popularity ever since. Originally published in Norway with the author's own illustrations and sheet music, these have been preserved in this new edition.
