The historical novel tells about the valiant knight Ivanhoe, who lived during the time of King Richard the Lionheart. Banished from home by his father, Ivanhoe enters the service of King Richard and goes on a crusade with him. At home, only one person is waiting for his return - the beautiful Lady Rowena, a friend of children's games, the granddaughter of the last Saxon king and beloved Ivanhoe.
