The Invisible Man was first published in 1897. His hero, a talented student Griffin, is one of the most recognizable "evil geniuses" in world literature. He invents an apparatus capable of making a person invisible. After several experiments on a piece of cloth and a cat, Griffin decides to become the first Invisible Man in history. Wanting to cover his tracks, he breaks the apparatus and burns down his house.

The Time Machine is a dystopian novel published in 1895. The Time Traveler travels to the distant year 802,701. The Morlocks and the Eloi, who have lost their human intellect, are now inhabiting the Earth. Still unaware of the existence of the Morlocks, the Traveler tries to make contact with the Eloi and leaves the Time Machine. The Morlocks find her and carry her to the pedestal of the White Sphinx. Will the Traveler be able to find her and return home?
