Hans Christian Andersen: The Princess and the Pea

Once upon a time there was a prince, and it was time for him to marry. He traveled all over the world, but did not find a suitable bride. However, sometimes what seems like a distant and unattainable ideal can be hidden very close... Andersen's fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea" is filled with cheerful irony and worldly wisdom. Artist Anton Lomaev came up with illustrations for it while walking with his family through the parks of Peterhof, where the spirit of courtesy of baroque palaces of the 18th century still lives. Once upon a time, real princes and princesses walked there, and even now it seems that among the green labyrinths a magnificent dress or a cocked hat is about to flash, or a gilded carriage will pass between the trees.
