We have an assumption that in "Confusion" Chukovsky is talking about the course of the disease: it all starts suddenly, but with a simple malaise, then it gets worse, then a strong fever, nothing helps: neither pies, nor pancakes, nor dried mushrooms; and then "a butterfly flew in, waved its wings" - and begins to slowly let go, and finally - a healthy sleep! I wonder who came up with such a powerful metaphor: us or Chukovsky?
