Olga Fedorovna Berggolts (1910 - 1975) - writer, poet, journalist, playwright.
During the Great Patriotic War, Olga Berggolts remained in besieged Leningrad. Since August 1941, she worked on the radio, almost daily addressing residents of the besieged city. Bergholz ended each radio address with her own poetry. And her poems helped Leningraders survive in the frozen besieged city and not lose human dignity. It was not for nothing that Olga Berggolts’ voice was called a symbol of victory, and the poetess herself was called the muse of besieged Leningrad.
The collection includes poems and excerpts from radio addresses to Leningraders.
