The book is dedicated to the Bolshoi Theater, without which it is impossible to imagine Moscow, Russia, and our culture. The authors talk about how the history of the Bolshoi Theater began, how many fires and reconstructions it survived, and how the appearance of the building that exists today on Theater Square gradually took shape. It talks about the fate of the theater after the revolution, about the most famous performances and, of course, about what was done during the reconstruction of 2005-2011, after which the theater again opened its doors to spectators.
